Samsung 840 EVO world’s first SSD with 1tb storage capacity

Samsung recently launched world’s first 1 terabyte mSATA SSD. For users it is worth mentioning here that 1 terabyte mSATA SSD is not new but with Samsung engineers the size of the chip has been reduced to a considerable size. The size presently shrinks by sixty percent and this is really amazing. The SSD is the extension of Samsung’s 840 EVO which the brand launched last July. The model was launched in Solid State Drives Global Summit. The best feature of this model is that it offers about 98k random read and about 90k random write IOPS aka Input Output Operations Per Second.

Now with this new model user will be able to enjoy sequential read and write speed of around 540 MB/s & 520 MB/s respectively. The drive uses Samsung’s 128 GB of NAND flash memory which is based on 10 nm class process technology. A total of four such memory chips combine to form 1 terabyte storage. Each of its layers is comprised of 16 layers and contains 128 GB chips. The dimension of the chip is really amazing. The drive is 3.85 mm thick and it weighs only 8.5 grams. By the end of this month the chip will be shipped to our country.
