Salman Khan’s Jai Ho First weekend boxoffice collection report

One of the most awaited movies of 2014, Salman Khan’s ‘Jai Ho’ has turned out to be an average grosser in India and abroad. The movie, which has been released in record number of screens in six foreign countries, has been seen to beat the tree day collection of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabanng 2’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. But the action film failed to break the records of 2013 blockbusters like ‘Krrish 3’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Dhoom 3’.

The movie was released in foreign countries like USA, UK, UAE, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan on Jaunary 24, 2014, in 700 screens. The movie although opened to a lukewarm reponse, it picked up sales in the international market in the next few days, due to word of mouth. The Salman Khan starring film has collected rs. 22.38 crores nett at the overseas Box Office during the first three days.

According to a tweet by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘#JaiHo started on a slow note in the international arena, but the biz witnessed day-wise growth in several markets. Source: Rentrak…# JaiHo has fared exceptionally well in UAE – GCC, Pakistan and USA – Canada mainly.
