Nissan India had previously announced its determination to revive the Datsun brand and create a small family car that will compete with the lowest budget cars in India. The country which gave the world its cheapest cars like Nano and Alto 800 was thought to be the best place for such an experience. Now at last Nissan has unveiled its Datsun hatchback which has been christened Go. The car will hit the Indian roads in the middle of 2014 and will be priced at less than Rs. 4 lakhs.
This car is powered by a 1.2l petrol engine which is mated to a five speed manual transmission. It is a front wheel drive. The car is 3785 mm long, 1635 mm wide and 1485 mm high. It has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. this five door hatchback marks the entry of Nissan in the cheapest segment of the automobile industry of India. The bench seat in front will allow three people to sit side by side in the front seat of the car. So, this hatchback will effectively sit six people.
