Mercedes ‘S Class Coupe’ series to be launched in India

With the demand for luxury sedans growing in India, Mercedes has decided to put extra emphasis on this huge market. The German pioneer will be bringing new models across various segments to India by next year. Among the new arrivals will be the AMG coupes from its flagship S Class range. Both the ‘Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe’ and ‘Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe’ will be launching in India, although the dates are yet to be announced. From both aspects of price and performance both the models will be among the top cars in India. Talking about the ‘S65 AMG’Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH has said, “There are AMG fans for whom our V12 biturbo engine is the measure of all things. For this clientele we have developed a unique car in the form of the new S65 AMG Coupe. From driving dynamics to comfort and equipment – our new twelve-cylinder coupe surpasses even the highest of expectations.”

Keeping in mind, the preference of efficiency over power in the Indian market, Mercedes is reportedly developing an ‘S500 AMG Coupe’ that will work as an entry level model in the range with similar style and features but a less powerful engine. Price wise it will be in eight figure or high seven figure amounts as expected from a flagship range product. The styling of the ‘S65 AMG’ and the ‘S63 AMG’ are quite similar as the makers have concentrated on the performance. But still the S Class coupe is extremely stylish and is sure to turn heads on Indian roads after launch. After the global launch, Gorden Wagener, Vice President Daimler AG had said, “Our new S-Class Coupe is one of the most gorgeous coupes of all time, representing the most radical aesthetic departure from its predecessor…The sensuous flowing silhouette in interplay with the clear progressive design language forms a perfect symbiosis and expresses our philosophy of sensual purity with pithy precision.”
