Leading Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto launched the ‘Discovery’ back in 2004. Initially it was a 125 cc bike. The success of the model led to the launch of a 150 cc variant and it has been a hit with the Indian buyers. Encouraged by its success, Bajaj Auto has now announced that it will revamp the 150 cc series with two new range topping models- Discover 150S and 150F. The 150S will be the more affordable model of the two. Both variants will feature enhanced styling to make them stand out amidst the many 150 cc bikes available in the market. Mr. Eric Vas, President (Motorcycle Business), Bajaj Auto, said, “The newly launched Discover 150 breaks the monotony and drudgery of daily commute by providing the rider with a reserve of power to enjoy his ride. Its advanced 4 Valve 145 cc DTS-i engine delivers a class leading 14 BHP power and mileage of 72 kmpl, the new Discover 150 will appeal to those who value the time spent during their daily commute on their bikes. ”
Some of the key features of the two new bikes are-

- · Large 10-litre fuel tank with 1.9-litre for reserve
- · Impressive ground clearance of 165mm.
- · Around 130 Kg of Maximum kerb weight.
Both of the new bikes are powered by a single cylinder engine with 145-cc capacity. The engine has a maximum power output of 14 BHP( 8500 RPM) and a max torque of 12.74 Nm (6500 RPM). The engine is paired with a 5 speed transmission that uses an all-up shift. The official top speed of the bikes is rated at 110 KMPH. As per the claim of the company, the engine has been able to return 72 KMPL under standard testing conditions.
