2015 Hyundai i20 Elite Hatchback details

One of the most expensive hatchbacks in India that is highly successful is the Hyundai i20, this car was launched in December 2008. The Korean automaker made facelift in March 2012 and now they launched a second generation of the model in India. The new premium hatchback has lot riding over it as the hype prior to launch has been huge and expectations are also very high too.

This is the latest entrant in the segment in which, Volkswagen and Fiat also upgraded their products. Unlike the competitors, the Hyundai Elite i20 is all new car inside-out, the company took carried on only with the engine and transmission from the old model. The car is also loaded with more features than earlier. Their car comes in 4 models – Era (base model), Magna, Asta and Sportz and an additional more feature providing model called Sportz (O).

The company uses the same engine under the hood and the car is still continue to get both petrol and diesel options. In the petrol variant has 1.2-litre Kappa 2 engine that produces 81bhp, while the diesel comes with 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine which push out 89bhp. Both engines come with five-speed manual transmission.

In recent days, Hyundai is focusing a lot on styling; the new car features the typical Fluidic Sculpture Earlier it was all more of flowing lines and curves on the front but the new model is a bit boxy and features more of straight lines and sharply cut corners. The car is 10 mm lesser in length and it looks bit more compact. The major changes outside the car also include a new big grill located on the front bumper, new black colour C-pillar, more dynamic headlights and tail lights. The new diamond cut design on 16 inch alloy wheels (only on top end model) makes the car look better. Although the car don’t come with any ‘Elite’ logo or badge on the body.

Stepping inside, one will get to see an all new interior including a new dual tone black and beige dashboard. The new combination works well to give a typical airy feel while quality of the material inside the cabin, like always, is excellent. New design in the instrument cluster makes it easy to read even while on drive. There are lots of storage pockets in the cabin that include card holder, door pockets, sunglass holder. The base model (Era) comes loaded with features like electric power steering, day and night rear-view mirror and a 12 V power outlet. The upper models are loaded with much more features and come with a foldable key, front centre armrest, steering-mounted audio controls, electrically-adjustable side mirrors, cooled glove box and rear AC vents and parcel tray, behind the rear seat. A brand new music system is introduced in the car, the 2 DIN audio system comes with a 1 GB internal memory and also got USB and AUX input ports, it also features Bluetooth connectivity, which means you can play music in your car via anything you want. The higher Sportz model get added on with some more features like ABS (Antilocking Brakes System), driver airbag, reverse parking sensors with came, rear defogger with timer , leather wrapped steering and gear knob, climate control, push start-stop button and auto folding door mirrors. If you still want more then comes the top end Asta, which comes with all the features mentioned above along with some more such as the automatic headlights, passenger airbag, a 12 V power outlet in the rear, adjustable rear headrest, 60:40 splitting rear seats and a rear wiper.
